CornMae

No I did not leave out the "Z" in maze and no this post is not about our family finding our way through hundreds of stalks of corn. This post is about my sweet little Mae and her new 'do.

My little girl looks all grown up with her new cornrows! A friend of mine from Nigeria offered to help me the other day and this is the end result. I am missing her curls a ton; they are kind of her trademark, but this is a fun change and will keep her hair from getting as tangled. It only stays in a week so when I wash it again on Saturday I'll have to decide what I want to do from there. I've decided braiding is an art form and Suzanne is a master artist! I know there is no way I'll be able to duplicate what she did (especially since I was holding Kiara down the whole hour so I didn't get to watch her as much as I wanted to) but hopefully we'll come up with an acceptable alternative.

The one thing I love about this style is it totally shows off the beautiful features of Kiara's face. She has literally taken my breath away a few times over the last few days. This picture really doesn't do her justice but it's the best I could get since she always either looks away or closes her eyes really tight while "being obedient" and saying "cheese!"

Anyway, this is new and I'm still getting used to it but I'd love to hear some opinions. What do you think? Do we stick with the cornrows or go back to curls? Or maybe somehow do both?

Wow - she looks so grown up. I love the corn rows. I would wait and make the decision after you have tried to do it yourself. You can always do corn rows one week and curls the next. Unless it doesn't work that way with her hair. Good Luck. I'm glad you guys are coming back for Thanksgiving! See ya soon.

I love the hair. She does look very grown up.

So cute! Did she hate it the whole time? She looks older and of course beautiful. It shows off how long her hair is. Can you alternate or do you have to commit?

It will be fun for you to have more options.

I think you should leave the cornrows. I think it so cute on Kiara Mae :)

I totally think that he does. I always tell Paul that he could not deny Tre' if he wanted too.
Hopefully as he gets older he will get some of my cuteness too. :)
So did you decide what you are going to be for Halloween? :)

I like her hair both ways. I dunno...she seems about the same age as my daughter...it seems like such torture for me and her to fix her hair. I dunno what to tell you...eek...love them both...perhaps do the braids when she is older?
