My grandparents are cuter than yours, part 2

A week after my parents left, some of Ben's family arrived from New Hampshire. The houseguests included Ben's mom (Teresa), his 4 year old sister (Eve), 7 year old brother (EJ), 14 year old sister (Libby) and 15 year old brother (Adam--yes they have an Adam and an Eve!). Needless to say there was a lot of constant noise and commotion in our house for a week! We loved it though and the house felt eerily quiet after they left.

The one wish we got from our visitors was to go swimming. We accomodated their request with 2 full days at the pool and we could have easily gone back for more. It was a blast!

One of the days we decided to head to Six Flags and everyone loved it. Somehow we never get sick of this place, especially when we go with new people who have never been there before.



We just went to Six Flags back in June and Kiara still wasn't tall enough to ride a particular ride. This time however she was 2 inches over the required height! I couldn't believe my eyes! I think her hair may have helped the cause a little (notice that's all you can see of her on the far left, that's usually how I spot her at the park or in a crowd of kids. It's very convenient!). She continues to be a little daredevil though and still didn't get scared on any rides.

Teresa however, not such a daredevil. We finally convinced her to go on this kiddie boat ride that goes about 7 miles an hour but even that was too much for her. She put her head down like this about 5 seconds in to the ride and didn't bring it up until the ride had completely stopped.

At first Kiara and Eve thought she was joking so they put their heads down too but once Kiara realized Teresa really was sick she put her hand on her back and tried to make it better. What a sweet girl.

Libby is one of my favorite people in the world. She's a lot like Punky Brewster only lately she's really turning in to a classy young woman. I really wish I could see her more often, Libby is just good for your soul.

Kiara has figured this out and loves Libby too.

Kiara and Eve are 18 months apart but Kiara was already 9 months old when Ben's parents adopted Eve from Ukraine. They are the exact same height and weight and have always acted more like sisters than aunt and niece. Like any sister relationship, it is a little love/hate. Some days it was more hate than we would like but when the love was there, life was good! This was the scene seconds after seeing each other at the airport. It was so sweet!

Many of the fights that occured throughout the week resulted because one girl wanted something the other one had, hence Grandma trying to get two of as many things as she could! As we were leaving Six Flags the girls spotted these Superman capes that they couldn't live without so Grandma obliged. It was a pretty cute sight to see these two sheroes walking side by side to the car. We got A LOT of comments!

Because we usually only get to see each other once or twice a year for a couple of days, we loved being able to spend a whole week together and do some fun things. They are amazing people and we're already planning the next trip!
